Facing the Giant

Truthfully, I have to say that I'm not a religion person. Perhaps, this is a reason why i choose to see adult films such as American Pie and Europe Trip rather than Passion of The Christ or Facing The Giant. But, the last film changed my personality so much, though I'm still not religion yet. Hahaha....!!!

This film tells about some mediocre football team.which get average position for several years. On the fifth season, they want to replace their coach. The problem for this coach becomes more complicated because he is also get problems with his financial and he is also sterile. But, these problems change to the overwhelmed blessed since he realizes about God's plan in his life.

The first scenes that I love is the what priest said to give an advice for this Coach, Grant Taylor. The priest took one of chapters in Revelation 3:

"I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name."

Moreover, the priest said that God never gives something to someone who never prepares about this blessing. The parable about one of the farmers who prepares his land to receive rain explained that we not only have to pray but also prepare the blessing from our God.

The second scenes take a scene when they get a lost after win several times in a row. Do you what the coach said:

"We praise God when we win, either praise Him when we loose"

Since that quote, I realized that we must be thankful for everything we get from God. It means that when God don't accept our wish, we should still be thankful for other God's plan-which I'm sure that it will be much better

One of chapter in Matthew 19:26 becomes the ending of this film

"With God, all things are possible"

This quote becomes the peak of his struggle process. Many succesfull that he get, either championship or baby, its all happen because he believes that nothing is impossible in the name of God.

"It doesn't matter how many times God rejects your wishes, because I believe that God prepares something much better for you. Something that not only makes you happy, but also many people surround you. Just be patient and keep your faith on Him."

CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL

CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL

Chicken Soup for The Soul. I’m sure that many of you already knew about this book. There’s no doubt that this book as one of the best seller books and has been inspired many people. For you whom never know about this book, I will give you a little secret. It is tremendously great book. This book has been printed several times with different series. The greatest think is, all of these series became best seller and almost all readers admitted the beneficial for their personal life. Chicken Soup for the Soul contains of story about people who share their personal experiences. Almost all of it shares about people who was feeling desperation and became better person and passionately after one turning moment.
Chicken Soup For The Soul: Think Positive is the first foreign book that I’ve ever bought. Previously, I chose to borrow my friend’s book, either as downloaded from the internet. Despite the fact that I don’t have much money, this book attracted my interest till finally decided to buy this book.
Many stories that make me feel touched in this book, but I have the special one that I can’t ever forget. In page 278, the short story reviews about some student who had double major and did part time job. He had no spare time, especially to play with his friends because of his routinely.  Instead of played with his friends, he chose to fill his study and graduate immediately. Her friends always came to his apartments inviting him to some events, thought he always too busy joining these events. One chance, he wanted to join in some event. Even though he wanted to join this event, he was already late too registered. He was so angry to her friends and felt abandoned. Rather than study, he chose to go home and met her grandmother.
He spent a day watching sport game while her grandmother was sitting beside her. Suddenly, her grandmother got difficulty to breath, though he helped many times. He held her grandmother hands and still gave help as he can. A few minutes later, he realized that she was already gone. Her grandmother died; even he hadn’t a chance to call 911.
At this moment, he realized that “God does use everything and everyone to His greater glory. Even when it seems we have fallen out of favor, and He is turning things against us, it part of His loving protection.” He and her grandmother got His blessing, and because of her lateness he can see her grandmother for the last time.
God is in control, and things do happen for the best. It’s just hand to see what “the best” is before it happens.
